Another weekend and another poll for us at ScotlandVotes to examine.
This weekend’s poll came from TNS BMRB and was commissioned by Sir Tom Hunter’s ScotlandSeptember18 website. This is the second poll commissioned by SS18.
The results are as follows:
Yes — 32 (+2)
No — 46 (+4)
Undecided — 22 (-6)
TNS BMRB throughout the campaign have had a higher rate of undecided voters than the other polling companies, so it seems logical that the closer the referendum date is, the more likely we shall see a shift.
Normally, the Yes campaign would be delighted by a two point gain, but when Better Together doubled Yes’ effort then it’s understandable that the result might not be greeted by fanfare in Yes HQ. As Professor Curtice has pointed out:
“While there is little indication in this poll of any decline in Yes support, as suggested by the two most recent polls from YouGov, there is certainly no sign of any momentum.”
